I’m the first one to admit that a great pair of shoes or that perfect handbag can make logical thought processes fly out the window. Believe me… I get it, ladies!
As a WineShop at Home consultant your success translates into making money and maybe even working toward fabulous incentive trips. The urge to celebrate your success with a new pair of shoes, a gift for your supportive spouse or a weekend trip for your family can be sooooo tempting.
But before you do this, remember that life is all about MODERATION – saving can be as equally rewarding as those pretty little pumps (and in the long run, you’ll thank yourself)!
It’s Not What You Make, It’s What You Keep
Here’s the deal: as a WineShop consultant you can have huge success and make great money, but if you don’t save a single penny then what good was making all that money in the first place?
An aspect of your success is reinvesting in your business. This means purchasing supplies, investing in training, traveling to meetings, business cards and even getting to know your product (the REAL fun part). Reinvesting in your business leads to becoming a more successful consultant, which leads to more money in your pocket.
However… and I’m not trying to scare you here, but… I meet many former and current top leaders in direct sales who say they’ve earned all these awards, but have nothing saved financially. They spent it as soon as it came in.
Umbrellas Up! Save for a Rainy Day
Unfortunately, challenges can come into your life when you least expect it. Remember when your mom told you to save for a rainy day? Well, if that storm starts to pour then the money you have worked so hard to save will come in handy. That savings can cover the mortgage in a pinch, or provide coverage during an emergency and THAT is where your business earnings can be life changing.
If you have already decided to commit to this business and sacrifice time away from your family and your spouse, then save that darn money! Make a plan. Focus on how your time spent now will benefit your family long term. The stories I have heard from the consultants who HAVE saved are priceless. The money to cover car repairs, to be debt free after the holidays, to pay cash for a needed medical expense or even to give to others give me goosebumps.
Money is power, people! So use your business savings as leverage!
Small Sacrifices = Big Pay Offs
When you master the art of finding a balance between saving for the downpour and allowing yourself little splurges to keep moral high, you can really enjoy yourself as a WineShop consultant.
Even the small sacrifices add up. Remember, your financial success is for the betterment of your relationship, family, and overall happiness, so take pride in your work and own your role as a WineShop at Home consultant!
So, what do you say, WineShop consultants? Ready… Set… Save!
