“My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me.” ~ Henry Ford
When I was in high school my teacher drew a diagram on the board and said, “For most of you, the number of people you know and come into contact with will peak in high school. Maybe college if you’re socially active. So take advantage of this opportunity and build relationships now, while you can.”
He explained that after college, most people find jobs, get married (to someone they probably met at school) and settle down. Kids take over their lives and their social circles naturally get smaller and smaller.
Dismal? Maybe… but true! Most people find that their social circles dwindle as they grow older because they’re simply not meeting new people regularly.
Direct Sales Expands Your Circle of Influence
Well, that whole diagram scenario about how people’s social circles get smaller through the years? My life is the opposite of that. Sure, I had a great time in high school, but being a WineShop at Home consultant flips that diagram on its head! My whole business is based on getting out there, meeting new people and making connections.
In fact… you might even say that meeting new people is a pillar of WineShop at Home’s success.
Not only do consultants meet many, many people, but it’s really common for people involved in direct marketing to become close friends with other consultants or other direct sellers. Like, best friends close. In fact, I’ve met most of my very best friends through direct selling! That in itself could be an entire blog, what those awesome ladies (you know who you are!) have brought to my life.
I believe there are a couple reasons why WineShop at Home consultants tend to become such great friends. First, this company attracts like-minded people. Think strong, independent, entrepreneurial people, and you’ll have a good sense of who joins WineShop at Home.
And second, people who are willing to try new things (like starting up a business) generally tend to be more open-minded, accepting of others and genuinely interested in what other people have to bring to the table. There’s a free-spiritedness about WineShop at Home consultants that I just love.
It’s Not Just Direct Selling… It’s a Community
WineShop at Home isn’t just a job. It’s not just a way to keep the bills paid, it’s a community of adventuresome, supportive people who genuinely care about each other.
And you know what? It’s that supportive community that makes us so successful.
So if you’ve been thinking about joining a direct sales company, consider WineShop at Home. In fact, I’d love to hop on the phone with you and give you a little more insight into how we work so you and I can figure out if we’re a good fit. It’s the best work family you will EVER have, I promise!
