I talk a lot on this blog about how to be wildly successful as a WineShop consultant. Indeed, once you join the company, you receive a lot of training on how to maximize your time and profits as a WineShop consultant. Many people end up leaving their full time jobs to pursue wine consulting as their main source of income.
But what if you just want to earn $400-$1000 more per month? What if you just want to find a really fun way to supplement another job that feels fulfilling and exciting? Maybe you want to keep busy in retirement, or find ways to meet more people.
If that sounds like you, hurrah! Your business endeavors are no less valuable than those of someone who is determined to get the next promotion in record time. No matter the size of your business, your contribution is important to your family, to your team, and to your goals in life. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you consciously cultivate your smaller WineShop at Home business…
This Business Offers So Much… and Your Consistency is Key!
There are so many benefits that come with working as a WineShop at Home consultant that it’s difficult to know where to start (the incentive trips? Earning extra money for having parties? Getting to try new wines every month? I could go on…).
Most of the time, when part-time consultants get discouraged it’s because they think WineShop expects them to bust their butts constantly. Let me tell you, this business has been very fruitful for me simply from exerting an exceptionally average amount of effort (yes – you read that right. My business is doing great thanks to me putting an average amount of effort for a long period of time).
Whatever level of participation you want is just perfect. However, it’s true that consistency is key – so if you know that you only want to work 5-10 hours a week in your business, do that! Just make sure that you’re really doing it. You’d be amazed at how those 5-10 hours per week compound into something really beneficial at the end of an entire year.
Think about Long-Term Benefits
Let’s talk money for a minute here. I know, I know: everyone’s scared to talk about money, but we’re going to do it anyway.
Let’s say you consistently earn $600 per month with your WineShop at Home business. Maybe you spend it on shoes because, well, who wouldn’t want to do that? So after 12 months, you have 12 really fabulous pairs of shoes in your closet.
Or maybe instead of splurging on shoes you put the money into a bank account called “down payment on our first house.” After a year, you’d have $7200. After two years, $14,400 (plus interest). After five years, $36,000 (plus interest).
See where I’m going with this? Even small amounts of effort yield great results over time.
Consider Expanding Your Wine Club Membership
Okay, so maybe constantly hosting tastings isn’t exactly right for you. Did you stop to think about how much of an impact Wine Club membership can have on your bottom line?
We all know how awesome Wine Club is for the client, but it’s ALSO awesome for your monthly income. If you have 30-50 Wine Club members in your arsenal, that’s an extra $200-$500 in commissions each month that is passive income.
I mean, come on. If that’s not a no-brainer, I honestly don’t know what is!
WineShop at Home consultants join for many reasons. Saving for college, special trips, paying off debt or mortgages, personal growth or social expansion. Whatever your reason, stay connected to it. You and your family deserve to benefit from the work you’re doing – so don’t stop!
Remember, consistency is key and being exceptionally average can take you very, very far in this business.
