This is what an average work day looks like for me as a WineShop at Home consultant: I wake up, have my coffee, walk the kids to school, come home and then put in a few hours on the business.
I pick my four-year old up from pre-school, come home and get the rest of my work done in time to be available to pick my older son up from school a few hours later.
Each week, I might spend a couple nights on conference calls or evening training sessions. I’ll host one or two tastings and attend a local business group meeting to network because it’s nice to get out of the house and be around other human beings!
As far as I’m concerned, this is not a bad work schedule. Not bad at all.
You Set Your Schedule
Running a WineShop at Home business is great if flexibility is important to you. When I wake up in the morning, I have an idea of what I need to get accomplished but I don’t have to stick to a set schedule.
A consultant whose business isn’t as big as mine can easily get the job done in an hour a day. As long as you “touch” your business at least once daily—whether that means contacting your host, following up with customers or training a new team member–your business is going to progressively move forward.
Full Time Can Mean Whatever You Want it To Mean
I work on my business full time because I decided I wanted a full time income. However, when I say “full time” you have to understand that I’m not talking 40-50 hours a week. For me, a heavy workday is closer to 5-6 hours – and I’m still earning a full time income. Most of our consultants are working far less than that.
Don’t Forget About the Wine
I feel as though it’s my duty to try all of our new wines. If I don’t, how can I talk honestly about them during a tasting? There aren’t many jobs out there where enjoying great wine is a requirement!
On our Monday night training calls, we’re always jokingly asking each other, “What’s in your glass right now?” Our annual conference always includes plenty of tastings… in truth, the job is actually a lifestyle.
In addition to getting to drink the wine, a lot of what you purchase can be considered a tax deduction. You earn your commission on personal purchases and have plenty of opportunities to earn complimentary wine just for doing your job well.

I wish I had known about this business before! Haha I have tons of experience in the wine industry and often attend high end tastings including Gambero Rosso Tri Biccheri in NYC every year. I was just joking about my network marketing businesses and how “if only there were one that involved selling wine”! And here you are! I actually have a FB page just for fun called Queen ‘O Vino! I believe it’s my friends favorite (of course Lol) of my pages which also include beauty. Looking forward to connecting with you!
