It’s hard to believe that the holidays are right around the corner (didn’t school just start!? Where is the time going??), but here they are again – and it’s time to order your holiday wine.
My intention is to get all my customers taken care of for November thru January, so they can kick back and enjoy the holiday season with friends and family instead of rushing to the store at the last minute to pick up wine. BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED WINE! Holiday+Family=WINE.
Stay Stocked for Parties and Emergencies
This might go without saying, but staying stocked up on wine makes life so much easier. When a new neighbor moves in and I have a free moment, I can pull one of Wine Shop at Home’s Table Reds out of my pantry and take it right over. New friend? Check!
Along the same lines, everyone on the East Coast knows that when a hurricane’s a-comin’ all the stores run out of wine. People are stocking up to hunker down for the storm! How convenient would it be to board up the windows and crack open the bottles that you already have in stock? Hurricane’s, Snowmaggedan, you name the weather emergency, wine is likely the answer.
Holiday parties can certainly qualify as an “emergency.” If your friend invites you at the last minute to a Christmas bash, don’t be “that person” who shows up without a gift. I like to include a wine accessory that can go with the wine to make it feel like a really generous gift. The Hailey’s Corker is one of my favorite accessories to tie to the top of the bottle.
Place Your Holiday Order with Me for the Best Deal
Here are my recommendations to put together the best holiday wine package from Wine Shop at Home…
- Semi-Seco. I would start with everyone’s favorite bottle of bubbly: our Semi-Seco. This wine is great for celebrations, and it’s incredibly popular for the holiday season. Everyone loves it! My only tip – don’t give it all away. Keep some for yourself, and you’ll be glad you did.
- Savignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer. These two whites are very popular with Wine Shop at Home fanatics, and for good reason! They go really well with most holiday appetizers (mmm, mini-quiche!).
- Assortment of Reds. Red wine is always a winter favorite, so I like to include an assortment of reds. Of course, I’d throw in a couple big and bold reds along with some softer reds because those make for such perfect holiday reserves. If there’s something you particularly love, we can focus on that bottle as well.
- Sweet Wines. And finally, let’s save some space for several sweet wines that people just love, like Riesling or a Muscat. If you’re not sure which you prefer, give me a call and let’s figure out what’s best for you.
