Like, for real.
So let’s get started.
Do I need experience to be a WineShop at Home consultant?
No! You don’t need any prior experience. Wine Shop at Home offers in-depth training and support so anyone who has a passion for wine can join the company and have the opportunity to run a great business. In fact, in some instances we have found that the less experience you have the more successful you’ll be (weird, but true).
What kind of training does Wine Shop at Home provide?
We’ll give you everything – and I really mean everything – you need to know to be successful in this business. When you join as a consultant, you’ll have access to in-person events, live conference calls with your team, access to your personal “leader” who trains you and works with you to develop your business, webinars, YouTube videos and interactive Facebook pages. Additionally, all of our wines come with descriptions and suggested food pairings. There’s plenty of information available to you as a consultant, and if you do your homework, you’ll never walk into a situation unprepared.
As a Wine Shop consultant, do I get to go to California?
As you grow in your business, there will certainly be opportunities to visit our home office, which is located in Napa, California.
Are there perks to being a consultant?
Oh, yes! Besides the simple fact that you get to work in everyone’s favorite industry and basically socialize and talk about wine for a living, there are many other perks to the job. If you live near your own local wine country, often by being a consultant you’re eligible for industry discounts at the local wineries. And also, check with your tax professional, but there’s a chance you can deduct some or all of your wine expenses as research.
Do you get discounts on the wine?
Technically, no. Currently as a wine consultant you don’t get discounts on the wine, but you do earn your full commission back on any purchases you make through Wine Shop at Home. Additionally, you can earn wine every month through our rich rewards program. And just so we’re clear – commission can be as high as 35%-44%, depending on your personal sales.
Do you get free wine?
Every consultant has the opportunity to earn wine with his or her business.
How much do you have to spend to start a business?
We have starter kits ranging from $100-$300, so it’s up to you. There will be a few other things you need to purchase to start your business – for instance, you might want a set of wine glasses or business cards. But in general, starting a Wine Shop at Home business has very little startup cost.
How long does it take to see a profit?
Honestly, that depends on how consistently you work your business and how quickly you personally move forward. I’ve had consultants turn a profit immediately because they got started and booked several tastings, so they were able to reach higher commission levels. Other people take more time to get themselves going, and that’s okay, too!
How do you find people to host tastings?
Most consultants start with a few people who are in their current network (could be friends and family members). Then they’ll work on booking additional tastings from those tastings. So, even if you’re starting from square one, you always know somebody who will host.
How much money do consultants make?
Our consultants earn anywhere from a 20-35% commission right from the start, which works out (depending on your tasting average) to between $80-$200+ per tasting. In addition, we also get the opportunity to earn wine, trips and other prizes. If you choose to build a team of other consultants there are even more opportunities to earn even more.
How much do you sell at an average party?
At a typical tasting, we sell about 2 cases of wine for around $450 however sales vary. I often have tasting where we sell much more then that and occasionally, less too! In a perfect scenario, we’re also looking to add two Wine Club members to our business, book two more tastings and maybe find someone who’s interested in the business. That would be a perfect tasting!
How much do you make per tasting?
About $80-$200+ depending on your commission level.
How many consultants are there?
That varies, it depends on activity level but not enough! Contact me for the most current details.
