Going on a super luxury cruise would be really great.
But going on a super luxury cruise knowing that you earned every second of it? Now that’s truly empowering, and that’s the exact experience that WineShop at Home wants its consultants to have in January 2020.
WineShop at Home’s Incentive Trips
Many direct selling companies offer their consultants incentive trips as a reward for reaching a certain number of goals throughout the year. But not all incentive trips are created equal!
I’ve previously written about why WineShop at Home’s incentive trips are simply the best (read more about it HERE), and the January 2020 trip will be no exception. It’s a super luxury cruise featuring the most incredible food, destinations and amenities… blah blah blah.
Just trust me, it’s going to be amazing. But that’s not really what I want to talk about today. Today, I want to talk about my personal experience over the last two years because:
A.) A lot of people look at my success with direct selling and for some reason wave it off as, “Oh, well, Diane got in on the ground floor, so everything is easy for her now.”
B.) The cruise in 2020 has new meaning for me because I’ve had a pretty hellish two years.
WineShop Pulled Me through Two Painful Years
Getting separated is really hard. You think that your life is going to go one way, and for a while it does until… WHAM! It changes direction—fast—and there doesn’t seem to be much you can do about it. Although my separation from my husband is amicable, it rippled through my life (and the lives of family members) in ways that I couldn’t have foreseen.
Add on top of that a full-blown house renovation where everything seemed to go terribly wrong. All the time. I was constantly putting out fires, and it nearly drove me insane.
Not to mention that I’m still the mother to two rambunctious boys. Oh yeah, and I also broke my ankle and had to wear a boot.
It was rough.
Through all that, I kept working my business when I could. And yes, even with all that “life stuff” on my plate, I was still able to earn the 2019 trip (side note: that’s because it’s totally doable!).
But although I technically earned the trip, it was really hard. Typically in my life, I really enjoy setting goals for myself and my team and working toward meeting them. It makes the success so much sweeter! But over this last year, I haven’t been able to enjoy the process as much as I would have liked. It was stressful.
This time, I’m really going to enjoy the process of earning the trip. And, oh yes, I am going to earn it!
Incentive Trips are Better with Friends
The thing I’m most proud of about the 2019 trip to Vienna is that I’m taking 3 new consultants who have never been on an incentive trip. I can’t wait to experience it for the first time through them vicariously, and in 2020 I want to bring even more first-timers on the cruise.
Quick note: Although these newbies earned the trip under my watch, I am in no way responsible for them earning it. All I did was offer guidance, mentorship and ideas—they did all the work, and they deserve 100% of the credit.
To me, one of the best things about WineShop at Home (and the incentive trips) is the community. The people who gravitate toward WineShop are amazing: funny, smart, charismatic, engaged and eager to learn. I love these people! If that sounds like your cup of tea, why not join us?
Now is the time to start putting together a strategy to earn the cruise in 2020 (hello!? It’s nearly the holiday season, our best sales period of the year!). Whether you’re brand new to WineShop or you’ve been here for a while, I’m here to say: you can totally do this. Join us on the boat in 2020.
