People ask me all the time what my secret is for staying engaged and connected with my WineShop at Home business.
I am by no means the perfect WineShop at Home consultant. Just like anyone, I go through periods where life takes a front seat and my business has to coast for a week or two (or three…eep!) I also go through periods where I’m so gung-ho to beef up my tasting schedule that I feel like I could conquer the world.
And let’s be honest: Sometimes I have to sit down and seriously ask myself, “Do I really want to do this anymore?”
That’s where Dana comes in (aka my secret bounce back weapon).
Work with a Business Coach
Last month, I hosted a guest blog post from business coach Dana Phillips (read it HERE). Dana is one of the keys to my success. She holds me accountable. She asks me the tough questions.
She keeps me on track.
Even though I have years of experience as a WineShop at Home consultant, I sometimes need an extra push to get the work done. Like everyone else, I occasionally go through slumps, and let me tell you something: I can manipulate anyone into letting me off the hook!
Well, anyone except Dana.
Since she’s a freelance consultant, she has no ulterior motive about getting me to make more sales or keeping me enrolled in the company. She’ll hold up the mirror and say, “Look at how your choices are affecting your life and your business.” Sometimes the reflection makes me grin because I’ve acted with integrity, and other times it’s painful to see.
But like I’ve always said, one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of working for WineShop is the element of personal growth—and it’s important to me to feel that I’m not only making money, but expanding on a personal level.
So, if you’re really, really ready to take the next big step in your WineShop at Home business, it could be time for you to hire a coach or reach out to the Regional Sales V.P.’s at WineShop at Home. But before you do, be ready to hear things that might sting a bit.
Figure Out how to Bounce Back
Dana is my personal secret weapon when it comes to bouncing back from the hard times. Sure, sometimes I leave our sessions feeling like crap because she’s forced me to be brutally honest with myself, but I would so much rather see what’s really going on and make an empowering choice than stay stuck.
Hiring a coach might not be the right thing for you (but if it is, you can find Dana HERE). However, if you want to create longevity in your career with WineShop (or any direct sales business for that matter) it’s crucial that you find a way to bounce back from your setbacks and hear the tough stuff.
Here are some ideas:
- Read a book on success in the direct sales arena…
- Revisit important and inspirational WineShop at Home virtual trainings…
- Set a goal for yourself that feels motivational (like a special vacation, paying off a credit card, making a car payment, etc.).
- Ask an upline how you can improve and then really listen to the feedback.
I can promise you with 99% certainty that if you do the legwork to reconnect with your business, you will come out on the other end feeling more clear, more motivated and more grounded, whatever choice you end up making.
