Happy New Year! January is naturally the best time to set goals for the coming 12 months in all areas of your life, but especially in your professional life.
Want to know mine? Drumroll, please…
- In 2018, my New Years Resolution is to have 20 front-line leaders, which means I’m on the hunt for 5-6 new people to promote.
- I want to do 6-8 tastings per month.
- I also want to 10 fundraiser tastings this year (look for an upcoming post on how to successfully turn a wine tasting into a fundraiser).
- I intend to keep exercising my mind and body, which I know helps me be a better consultant.
Let’s take a closer look at these resolutions and maybe they’ll inspire you as you create yours.
My Goal to have 20 Front-Line Leaders
If you really want to build your WineShop at Home business, you have to have strong leaders. My goal is to have 20 qualifying front-line leaders on my team (OMG did I just put that in print??), which means I’m on the hunt for 5-6 more in 2018. These will be the people who I lean on to rally the troops, so to speak, and help keep my team excited, focused and on track.
Do you think you’re one of the six I’m looking for? Good candidates are existing consultants who want to get to the next level, or newbies who have a fire in their belly and want to grow quickly (yes, you can get promoted in the first month – people do it all the time).
Drop me a line HERE.
My Goal to have 6-8 Tastings per Month
It’s not a secret that the way to build a strong business is to keep a full calendar of tastings. But it’s funny how the simplest of ideas can seem complicated, overwhelming and even daunting at times!
So this year, I want to really focus on keeping my calendar full – especially because I know that the best way to reach my goal of having 20 front-line leaders is to continue meeting people and expanding my network of wine lovers. You never know who you’ll meet at a random Tuesday night tasting!
My Goal to have 10 Fundraiser Tastings
Later in 2018 I’m going to write more about how this works. It’s so fun and fulfilling to raise money for a cause you believe in, and this year I want to use my work with WineShop at Home to help support the organizations I love.
My Goal to Exercise my Mind and Body
It’s amazing how the health of your body and mind is so intrinsically connected to the health of your business. For me, I try to do 3 classes a week, 2 personal training sessions, and walk 3-5 miles a few times a week.
I also want to find time to slow down and read to keep my mind limber. Here are some of the books on my reading list:
- Thrive by Arianna Huffington
- Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg
- The Success Principles by Jack Canfield
So now it’s your turn. What are your goals for 2018? I’d love to hear what they are – leave a comment in the area below or drop me a line to connect.

Love these goals. Mine? 6 more front line leaders by end of 2018, 2 of them as Directors. Continue to do 6 tastings a month, increase Wine Clubs to rolling 75 clubs by convention, promote to ED by convention. Sell 2 cases a month in outside sales, consistently.
