So this isn’t a post that I wrote, but when I opened it in my email this morning I just knew I had to share it!
Fall Filled With Bookings!

If your calendar isn’t as filled with fall bookings as you would like, then use the following check list to determine the action steps you need to take right now to get your fall filled with bookings!
Do you still have dates in the next few weeks you want to fill? Are you talking these steps to get new bookings? Answer “yes” or “no” on the line next to each – then get busy!
NEW BOOKINGS – ACTION STEPS
____ 1. Check in monthly with past hostesses – make phone calls, send emails, text your past hostesses to stay in touch just to check in with them to see what you can help them with each month. Check-in calls lead to bookings.
____ 2. Host your own show – invite those who have never been to a show or those who haven’t been in a very long time. They will have a greater appreciation for your product in the comfort of your home and then be encouraged to book their own show. Share your available dates and let them pick one for their own fall show.
____ 3. Host your own open house – invite those who are familiar with your products to drop in for a casual “stop & shop” open house. They can pick a favorite date for their own show while there.
____ 4. Participate in vendor events, craft shows, business expos – new business and new bookings await when you get out in public at an exposure event. Google to find a list of events in your area this fall – be there, be seen, be booking!
____ 5. Attend networking groups – expand your network by attending meetings in your area of DSWA, E-Women Network, ABWA or any local business women’s networking groups. Google to find those with chapters in your area. You will meet new people, learn from them and have the opportunity to share your business.
Are you averaging 4 or more new bookings from each show? Are you taking these steps at each show to get new bookings? Answer “yes” or “no” on the line next to each – then get busy!
BOOKINGS FROM HOME SHOWS – ACTION STEPS
____ 1. Provide your calendar in every hostess packet – highlight your next 3 available dates so she can share them with her friends in advance at the show to obtain bookings.
____ 2. Provide each guest with a wish list/calendar sheet – the guests can list their favorite items as you demonstrate and then can see the dates you have available to host their own show.
____ 3. Use booking bags for hostess packets – a cute cubby bag with some colorful tissue paper makes for an eye-catching display at your shows. Fill with your hostess packet info and place several around the room. Pick one up and say, “Everything you need to get your party (or in our case…tasting!) started is in the bag – so pick one up, bring it to me later and we’ll pick your date!” (wine bags would work GREAT!)
____ 4. Display booking signs – scatter several 8″x10″ silver picture frames around the room with booking invitations in each, such as “Treat yourself and your friends to a fun girls’ night out!”
____5. Invite each guest during consulting time – as you spend a minute or two with each guest while writing up their order, be sure to invite each to pick a date on your calendar – “Let’s pick a date for a fun girls’ night out for you and your friends”. Invite every guest individually, at every show. (This is SO important!)
____ 6. Use the “Dentist Principle” with each hostess – invite each hostess to rebook in six months, similar to what you do with your dentist appointments. Those you normally schedule six months in advance. Do the same with each hostess. Before you leave her home, suggest she reserve her next booking in six months, so she is sure to hold the day or night most important to her. Tell her you can just “pencil” her in for now and then confirm it in a few months.
