Phew! The kids are *finally* back in school and you know what that means: the adults can kick back a bit, catch their breath after a hectic summer and (my favorite part) crack open a bottle of their favorite adult beverage to celebrate.
Need some ideas to get your fall semester rolling? No problem, I can help with that…
Semi-Seco Monday
Honestly, some weeks I’m so happy to drop the kiddoes off at school that I want to cheer. Not that I don’t love them to death—but dang, it sure feels good to walk into the house and hear the beautiful sound of nothing. Cheers to that, amiright?
There’s nothing like WineShop’s signature Semi-Secco to get the party started (even if it’s a party of 1 at 10am!). I mean, heck! Why not add a little orange juice and let the day live up to its full potential? I’ll clink to Mimosa Monday!
Table Red Tuesday
Two words for ya: “screw cap.” Our Table Red makes life a little easier by pairing really well with whatever you picked up for dinner at Costco on the way home.
So when Little Johnny whines about his green beans while Little Suzie tries to pull out Little Mikey’s hair and Little Judy smears pasta sauce all over her face, you can just take a sip, smile ironically and let the joys of mother or fatherhood wash over you like a cool summer rain.
…Oh, and did I mention “screw cap”?
Hump Day Chardonnay
I adore our Glory Chardonnay not only because it’s smooth and elegant, but also because I know that it’s for a good cause. Every time a bottle is purchased, WineShop donates $2 back to America’s Mighty Warriors, a charity that improves quality of life for members of the armed services and their families.
Supporting our troops? Yes, I’ll drink to that.
Thank God it’s Thursday
Every mom knows that all the best television shows are on Thursday nights (er, at least that’s how it has been for years). And every kid knows that Momma’s gotta watch her shows.
I love WineShop at Home’s Tannat because, to be completely honest, I think it pairs great with “Grey’s Anatomy.” Don’t believe me? Try it before you knock it, my friends…
Friday Night Date Night
Even if your date night with the hubs is simply a home cooked meal (or a defrosted Trader Joe’s pizza), pair it with one of our high end reds. I love the Halycon Cabernet, our Somersville Meritage or our Adorn Red Blend.
Going out? Most places will offer a corkage fee for you to bring your own bottle. You can thank me when you get the check and realize how much you saved by bringing your own.
Saturday = Rose All Day
One of my favorite mottos! Going to a kids’ sports game? Pfft. Cheer them on like a real pro and discretely bring your Tatu Rose Grenache n a sports game tumbler. #MomoftheYear
Ahhh, Sunday
I know some people who observe religious tradition and don’t drink on Sundays, but my religious beliefs have me drink wine every day and occasionally slip it to my children (I like to think it’s very posh and European of us). Okay, I’m kidding on that last part ?
So while some folks ought not to drink wine on Sunday (and we’ll be respectful of their choice, naturally) I’m just saying that if you were to find yourself at a bar-b-que, our Zin Nouveau Muse is absolutely tops. At this time of year, the weather is still nice but we’re starting to get just a hint of an autumn crisp in the air (and everyone knows that zinfandel is incredibly cozy during autumn)!
