Fundamentally, we only get one chance to pursue a life that’s worth living. And if you are unhappy in your current circumstance, it is 100% up to you to change it. -Amber Wyatt
Meet Amber Wyatt and Brittany Finn, both WineShop at Home Consultants. There are many special things about these two women, but what really sets them apart is the fact that they are sisters working on the same team.
These two have managed to work together in such a cohesive way that not only do they have a killer family dynamic, but they also have a killer working dynamic.
It’s so killer that Brittany (the younger sister and Amber’s team leader) has led her team to 25 straight months of consistently hitting her numbers.
So, what does it take to not only create a working relationship that is so collaborative and clean that it doesn’t mess with family dynamics, but one that also sets national records for WineShop at Home?
I sat down with Amber and Brittany to get some answers to those questions.
The Making of a Strong Team
Brittany got involved with WineShop at Home when she attended one of Diane Nozik’s tastings (and as it happens, there’s a great story behind that!). Soon after Brittany joined, Amber got involved as well as part of Brittany’s team, and the two were off to the races.
“I was promoted in 2013 right after I joined,” Brittany shared. “Ever since that promotion, we’ve never missed our numbers. As the 2-year mark got closer this year, it became one of my goals to hit 2 years without missing. It was a big success for our team in September.”
Amber laughed as she commented, “As a member of Brittany’s team, I like to say that I’m a major contributing factor to her hitting her numbers for 25 straight months! I don’t know if that’s true, but I like to think it.”
In truth, the sisters have a really cool dynamic. Although Amber is older, Brittany is the team leader. “I don’t do coaching with my sister,” Amber added, saying that they are careful not to get too intermixed.
Brittany said, “My team is great. They work really hard. Most of them are just doing it part time, but we always pull together and pull out those numbers, even when it’s last minute.”
It’s All about Calendar Control
So what’s the secret sauce? I asked Brittany exactly how she was able to knock her numbers out of the park.
The answer?
“The biggest thing for me is calendar control. I preach that to my team as well. For me personally to hit my minimums every month, I like to have no less than three tastings – which isn’t a whole lot. It’s a very attainable goal,” she said. “It’s not like I’m saying I have to have twelve tastings every month.”
Brittany went on to remark, “There are times when I look at a month and I have nothing on my calendar and I just hustle. I pick up the phone, send text messages and say, ‘Hey, I’m in this competition with my leader and I need to have four tastings in the next four weeks…’”
Well, it seems to be working!
Thanks to methodical planning and consistent tastings on the calendar, Amber and Brittany are enjoying tremendous success with WineShop at Home.
The best part? It’s totally doable, and you can do it, too!
In fact, Amber finished the interview by saying, “Fundamentally, we only get one chance to pursue a life that’s worth living. If you are unhappy in your current circumstances, it is 100% up to you to change it. You have nothing to lose by attempting something new. You have everything to gain by stepping out of your comfort zone.”
True words, Amber!
