Everyone wants to go to Napa Valley. People imagine the perfect vacation: they’re going to hit ten wineries a day; have a slow, curated tasting experience and get to pop open bottles on the winery grounds over a picnic lunch.
Sounds pretty great, don’t you think?
In the old days, Napa was that fun, luxurious place where people went to experience great wine. Now it’s very busy, very expensive and highly commercialized.
The Reality of a Napa Experience
This is what tends to happen when you go to Napa: you drive around to multiple tasting rooms, hoping that there will be space for you at the bar. Then you’re rushed through three to five wines while a ton of other people hang out right behind you waiting to take your spot.
You usually need to have an appointment at each winery and remember, you’re driving. Typically you can do a maximum of four wineries in a day and you’ll be lucky to pay $20 for five to eight one-ounce pours.
You’ll be luckier still if the person pouring knows anything about wine. Sometimes they do, but more often, you’re served by somebody who’s “just doing a job” for $10 an hour. They may want to work in the wine business… but that doesn’t mean they know much about the wine.
You Don’t Have to Go to Napa to Have the Lush Napa Experience
Wine Shop at Home can create the best Napa experience right in your home. We’ll bring someone who’s knowledgeable about wines—many of which you may have never tried before—into your living room to patiently guide you through a personalized tasting.
No one’s anxiously waiting for you to finish so they can take your place. You don’t have to get in your car and drive to the next tasting. And you don’t have to feel rushed or pressured to “have your experience.”
With a Wine Shop at Home tasting, you’ll have the opportunity to ask all of your questions and socialize before choosing the best wines for your wine rack.
You’ll be Drinking California Wines
Want to taste Napa wines without the Napa rush? Although we buy our grapes from some of the best wine regions in the world, we primarily source directly from a variety of vineyards all over California – including Napa!
At any tasting you might try wines from Napa, Mendocino, Lodi, Santa Barbara and maybe even something from Chile and Argentina.
Spring Is A Great Time to Host a Wine tasting
We all know how busy the holidays can get. Then along comes the New Year and—for some of us—the snow! By the time spring comes, people start to feel like they have a little more time on their hands. Their outdoor patios are beginning to thaw out and the weather is getting nice again.
This is the moment when most people stop and realize they haven’t seen their friends in months. There is no better way to gather everyone together in your space than with a Wine Shop at Home tasting party.
Featured Drink: Celebrate Spring with A Wine Cocktail
This wine cocktail tastes like spring and summer in a glass. Paired with a lime wedge, Grand Cadeau Rose Sparkling will transport you to a lazy July afternoon or tropical vacation. It’s clean, citrusy, bubbly and fun. One of my favorites!
