Well, it’s been a long while since I’ve posted anything and I decided that today was finally the day to get it done. I’ve been busy, I moved cross county, renovated my townhouse and had a baby all in the last 5 months. This morning I checked my email and had a list of questions from Iowa WineShop at Home Group Leader Kelly Hintzen. I’m headed out to visit her team next month and she wanted some content for her up coming calls and newsletter. Here is what she asked my about MY WineShop at Home business and why I became a Wine Consultant:
Why I Became a Wine Consultant
When did you begin with WSAH?
Summer of 2005
Why did you start?
I had always thought I could build a direct sales business but was never successful. I loved the idea of the freedom, flexibility and leverage but none of the current companies was a fit for me. When I found one wrapped around wine, I thought “Now here is an opportunity”.
Average commission checks this past year (if you’re comfortable sharing this)?
I can count on $8,000-$10,000 but they can be as high as $14,000-$16,000 in the holiday months
What is your favorite thing about WSAH?
Honestly, how easy it is to talk about what I do plus we have an AWESOME team! I’ve made great friends.
How do you juggle being a mom and wife with your business?
Sometimes it’s hard and I don’t always get it right but I lean on Belinda Ellsworth’s Power Hour training series plus small chunks of time. I’d rather make one call in a 10 min window then wait to have an uninterrupted hour to do multiple calls because some days that just doesn’t happen.
Any hints or surprises of things to come?
My lips are sealed but Jane and Stan tell me that convention will be a jaw dropper!
Why should everyone go to convention?
See above 🙂 Convention will rocket your business ahead by 1 year. Meeting other IWC’s plus corporate staff is so important if you want to build a large, solid, healthy business. You can see a side of the business that you don’t get in the everyday. There is so much energy and information at convention
